Two factory prototypes arrive into stock!

We are very proud to announce the acquisition of these two very important cars. Both are factory prototypes, both with only 1 owner from new, that owner being a Ferrari dignitary of the highest order. In addition, both cars were gifted to the only owner by the Commendatore Enzo Ferrari himself. Neither car has sustained any accident damage nor received any paintwork whilst in the only owners hands and have both been recently mechanically re-commissioned by the factory. Ferrari Red Book Classiche Certification has been awarded to both cars confirming that they were prototypes, who they were gifted to and that it was Enzo Ferrari that granted such.

1986 FERRARI 288 GTO PROTOTYPE

Chassis no. 47647 was utilised for the development of the engine electronics and turbochargers. It differs from production examples by way of its petrol tank configuration. It is 1 of only 6 288 GTO prototypes ever produced of which 3 were destroyed, making this particular car the oldest example that remains in existence today!

Only 1 owner and 20,800km from new, Mr Marco Piccinini the Motorsport Director of Ferrari and F1 Team Manager from 1978-1988 who was personally appointed by Enzo Ferrari himself as his representative for F1 matters in 1977 at the age of just 25. This car was gifted to Mr Piccinini from the Commendatore as a bonus for his performance in the 1984 and 1985 F1 season.

Recently mechanically re-commissioned at Maranello and awarded its Red Book Classiche certification which confirms within it being a Prototype, its ownership by Mr Marco Piccinini and that it was gifted by the Commendatore himself.

1987 FERRARI F40 PROTOTYPE

Chassis no.75052 is 1 of only 8 F40 prototypes ever produced, of which very few are in survival today! As with the 288 GTO, it has 1 owner from new, that owner also being Mr Marco Piccinini. With only 7,950km from new, this F40 was also gifted to Mr Piccinini from the Commendatore Enzo Ferrari as a bonus for his performance in the 1987 and 1988 F1 season.

This F40 differs from production examples by way of; different wing mirrors, 5 rear side vents as opposed to 4, different Kevlar weave to the tub plus quilted headlining.
