The McLaren P1 GTR is the purest expression of McLaren’s hybrid hypercar philosophy. It’s a track-only evolution of the already legendary P1, engineered without compromise by McLaren Special Operations (MSO). Conceived as a part of an elite driver development program, the GTR was reserved exclusively for existing P1 owners and limited to just 50 examples worldwide.

Unshackled by road regulations, the GTR extracts even greater performance from the P1’s already formidable foundation. Its hybrid powertrain is a 3.8 litre twin-turbocharged V8 paired with an electric motor that delivers a combined 986 bhp, channelled through a race-calibrated system tuned for instantaneous response. A fixed rear wing with active aerodynamics and DRS (Drag Reduction System), wider track, and lowered ride height contribute to unmatched circuit capability.

This particular P1 GTR is built to track specification, emphasising lightweight construction and functional performance. The exterior features a ‘Mansour‘ customised livery, combining carbon black metallic with Supernova silver exterior stripes, resulting in a menacing yet elegant presence. Stealth wheels are paired with black brake calipers, the only available option for the track-only variant. The mono-cage roof snorkel and rear-facing camera pod are both finished in high gloss black and reflects the standardised, no-option functional approach MSO took for track models, with visible carbon fibre and alternate finishes not offered.

Inside, the GTR’s stripped cockpit is race-prepared and centred around a motorsport-style steering wheel, derived from the MP4-23 Formula 1 car. Full telemetry integration, a bare-carbon interior, and ultra-lightweight racing seats affirm the GTR’s singular purpose: unfiltered, track-focused performance.

This example is one of only two cars within the collection that Mansour chose to use and one in which he participated at numerous McLaren ‘Pure’ race days.
