Singer Vehicle Design was founded in 2009 by British singer-songwriter Rob Dickinson. Driven by his love for the Porsche brand, he set out to preserve and enhance Porsche’s iconic air-cooled 911s. The 964 model was chosen as the foundation for Singer’s vision of creating the ultimate 911, and over the past 16 years, Singer Vehicle Design has become renowned for producing some of the finest redesigned and re-engineered bespoke 911s in the world.

Known as the ‘Le Mans’ commission and inspired by the Le Mans winning Porsche 917. This particular example began life as a 1991 964 Carrera Coupé. In 2015, it was sent to Singer’s headquarters in the USA to be ‘reimagined’ by the highly skilled craftsmen of Southern California. The goal was to capture the finest details of the early 911s, incorporating Ferdinand ‘Butzi’ Porsche–inspired design cues while adding modern driving capabilities.

Specified with a Cosworth-developed 3.8-litre engine, a raft of upgrades to the fuelling system, crankshaft, pistons, cylinders, oil pump, and plenum help this engine produce 350 hp with tremendous torque. Mated to a five-speed gearbox with optimised ratios, the performance and driving experience are exceptional.

Additional enhancements include a carbon-fibre roof, Öhlins adjustable sport suspension, large Brembo brakes, and red callipers detailed with white lettering.

Exterior highlights include a Paint-to-Sample (PTS) finish in Bahia Red, a bespoke side stripe with ‘Porsche’ script, decklid lettering in white, Fuchs-style wheels in a two-tone finish of satin black with matte-anodised petals and centre caps, a black ceramic exhaust system, and desirable options such as a centre-fill fuel filler with ‘Special Wish’ finned filler cap and external oil filler.

The pièce de résistance is the interior: a masterpiece of design finished in black suede, with an optional suede centre weave on the carbon-fibre ‘track’ bucket seats. The seat backs are finished in piano black, the headlining in black Alcantara, and the dash top and steering wheel trimmed in black suede. Across the centre of the dashboard runs a Bahia Red–painted dash strip, paired with a Bahia Red tachometer face with cream/white lettering. A ‘Milky Nickel’ rear-view mirror casing adds a distinctive touch, bringing together both elegance and purpose, along with a ‘Special Wish’ layered wood Le Mans–style gear knob. Additional features include drilled floorboards, square-weave carpet mats with rubber overlays, and iPod connectivity.

The car is presented in excellent condition throughout. It comes complete with its leather handbook pouch, car cover, battery conditioner, warning triangle, spare keys, and a comprehensive history file.
